The Rule-Breaker’s Manifesto #
“Disobedience” is often associated with rebellion or even isolation. However, in my eyes, it is the most precious instinct of a creator.
I seem to have been born with a restless gene. Ever since I was young, I have been fascinated by non-conformity and deep thinking rather than simply going with the flow. This trait makes me resistant to being easily swayed—once a vision takes root in my mind, it grows with a life of its own.
This personality translates into a near-obsessive pursuit in my work.
In any project, I value agency. I want to contribute my own perspective from the very beginning and bring fresh ideas to the team. I firmly believe that while mediocre ideas are born from compliance, breathtaking inspiration often stems from a “provocation” of the status quo.
If an idea is merely compliant but lacks a pulse, it is not a good idea. If you aren’t personally struck by the brilliance of a concept, how can you expect it to resonate with the rest of the world?
Many view project requirements as sacred decrees, but to me, rules should guide rather than shackle. They serve as a baseline to ensure we don’t drift completely off course, but if we become obsessed with every tiny constraint, the final output will inevitably be generic.

To refuse mediocrity, you must learn to step outside the lines. You must explore the wilderness beyond the rules and unearth ideas that are seemingly absurd yet possess immense creative tension.
There is a common Chinese saying: “Rules are dead, but people are alive.” While the Western world often calls this “Thinking outside the box,” the core philosophy is identical—rules are man-made, static frameworks, whereas human creativity is a fluid, living force.
In this age of standardization, being obedient is safe. But only those who dare to sow the seeds of inspiration above and beyond the rules will harvest true distinction.
